“Missing a train is only painful if you run after it! Likewise, not matching the idea of success others expect from you is only painful if that’s what you are seeking.” -Nassim Nicholas
Do you chase what others view as success?
One area which can be challenging for many is the expectations created in their lives. Often these started by the expectations set by our parents for what success looked like for them. It is what our parents teach us since it is what they know.
One step I would have you take is to sit down and define what ultimate success looks like for you. Write this out so it will be easy to refer back to as you often as you want in the future.
Is there a financial definition of success?
What does success mean to you in your health?
How is success shown in your relationships?
What types of results truly strike a chord within you to the point where you feel them when you write them?
As you can imagine, the answers to these questions will be drastically different for each person. Just make sure your answers are clear for you. This way you are able to design your action steps to achieve what you really want instead of what others want for you. Then, the only train you will be catching is the one you are driving.
