I hear it all the time when I am talking to someone about how to create success and a life they love – you are so lucky. Now of course, I agree with them because I am lucky to have found and created the awesome life I have with Deborah and my six children.
The challenge is many people think luck is random. What many people term luck results entirely from living a life on purpose with intent. I have planned out what I want my life to look like. I set principle targets to achieve. I take daily prioritized action steps toward my principle targets. I network constantly. I take opportunities on short notice to speak anywhere, anytime I am available. I look for the opportunity in all I do. I show up in every moment of my life looking to see how I can make this the best moment of the day. I mentor others and am mentored constantly. And this is the short list.
How Do You ‘Create’ Luck?
Do you do the same in your life? If you do, I know you experience ‘luck’ also. Why? Luck comes to those who out-work, out-think and out-hustle the average person. Shoot for excellence in all you do and luck is one of the results of your efforts.
Do you make one more call to a prospect or lead every day? Do you look for one more networking meeting to attend? Do you read another book to keep your mind sharp and learning? Do you work a little longer at your chosen expertise to sharpen your axe a little more? Do you take care of your health with proper diet and exercise? Do you tell those around you how much they mean to you at every chance you get? Do you give of your time mentoring or volunteering? Do you find one more action step each day you can do before calling it quits?
Doing the little things continuously and exceptionally well creates luck in your life because you are playing the game full out. You are getting and giving all you can from your life. When you do, you will be amazed at how ‘lucky’ you are.
