Accountability?

Have you committed to your goals for this year? … this month? … this week?

Many people commit to this. Just think of all of your friends who have made New Year’s resolutions. How many of them succeed with those commitments?

Didn’t they mean them when they spoke them? Of course they did. They had an intention.

What kept them from achieving the results?

For most, it is a lack of accountability. Who do you have in your life holding you accountable to what you commit to in your life? Is there anyone?

If not or if they are unable to hold you accountable, it could be time to find the right person. The right person is someone who will support your goal, motivate you when necessary, and ensure you stick to your action steps to achieve it. They must be good at both caring for you and willing to call you out when you fall short.

The right accountability partner closes the gap toward reaching your results. They can keep you motivated and progressing forward. Accountability partners make sure someone is checking upon the intentions you have declared. They are leverage to help attain your results.

The important part to remember is while your accountability partner is a tool to create leverage in reaching your goals, the responsibility still lies with you taking the actions to achieve what you want.
