“Take your victories, whatever they may be, cherish them, use them, but don’t settle for them.” – Mia Hamm

When you succeed, what do you do?

Do you take the time to celebrate?

Do you use this victory to propel you forward to your next one?

Or do you get comfortable, neglecting doing the action steps which brought you to this victory?

It’s a challenge I see happen with many of my students.  They reach a goal they had set for themselves – a sales volume they wanted, another house purchased, a weight release goal achieved – and then they get satisfied with where they are.

The challenge with being satisfied is it slows most people down from continuing to grow.  They unconsciously settle for where they are right now.

Now if you want to settle for one level of success, make this decision and be happy with it.  What I see happen is people relax when they achieve a goal and then realize a little while later they are unhappy with where they are and have to start the success train moving again.  It takes a lot more energy to get this train started from a stop than from just keeping the momentum of the previous victory going and building off of it.

To design the life of your dreams, make sure to stay hungry.  Celebrate your victories.  You deserve it.  Then look for the next principle target to focus your energy from your recent success to catapult you to the next victory.
