“Before I ever knew what the word Entrepreneur was, I realized in America and in the Western part of the world in general, you are given the opportunity to be whatever you want to be. And that is all anyone should ever expect from the Capitalist system. The rest is up to you.

It’s up to you to educate yourself.

It’s up to you to learn speaking skills and people skills.

It’s up to you to try (and usually fail, but to try again) all sorts of ventures.

The rest is a combination of hard work, being at the right place …at the right time…with the right thing…oh yes…and more (never ending) hard work.” – Gene Simmons

Do you accept responsibility for what you have or have not achieved in your life?  So many people I meet have an excuse for why any venture did not work… and usually it is far from them taking responsibility for what they did or didn’t do.

One of the most important lessons to internalize for all and especially an entrepreneur is “The buck stops here”.  What I mean is you are responsible for your results.  For everything which needs to be learned or sourced, you are responsible for making sure it happens.

One of the times I see many people explode their growth forward is when they realize they are the creators of all their results – both good and bad.  When you start living the fact you control your life, the victim mentality starts to leave you.  You become empowered to make the decisions which determine your results.  When success happens, you are the one who did the work, made sure the right people were in place, and took advantage of the opportunities in front of you.

Conversely, if you fail, you are still the person responsible for the decisions.  Accept this responsibility.  It’s part of becoming the success you want to be.  There are only two outcomes from anything – either results or excuses.  Which one do you want in your life?

Step forward and take charge of the direction of your life.  Put in the effort and find the resources needed to create success.  And by all means, take every opportunity presented to you to increase your results.  You will succeed when you decide there is no other option!

Do It Different!
