“Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.” – Benjamin Franklin

Have you done either one of these lately?  One of the reasons successful entrepreneurs succeed is they create their own story.

For some, they sit down and write a book which everyone loves.  There are many examples of this – Jack Canfield, Robert Kiyosaki, Robert Allen, J.K.Rowling, Stephen King are some.

For others, they go out and take action to create a difference in the world.  Examples of these are Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs, Nelson Mandela, Mohatma Gandhi to name a small few.

Either way, both groups took action to change their worlds in dramatic fashion.  What are you doing to make a difference in the world you live in?  Are you doing it on a large enough scale to truly impact a large number of people?

And as I often have you do, how about we step this up to the next level?  Since we live in an ‘and’ world with unlimited possibilities instead of an ‘or’ world with constraints, I always say do both – write a book worth reading and do something worth writing about.

Wanting to make a larger impact is one reason I wrote my book, “The Power of Mentoring” and is the reason I am writing my next book now (stay tuned for more information on this coming in the first quarter of 2016).  I wanted to reach more people than I could by personally mentoring a small group of people.  I combined doing something worth writing about and writing something worth reading providing me the opportunity to make a larger impact in the world around me.

Take the time to think about what kind of legacy you want to create.  How do you want to be remembered?  What kind of impact do you want to make?  What actions will get this started now?  Time is ticking by.  Let’s get busy making the world a better place!
