“Effective people take effective actions.” – Paul Finck
Do you think of how effective your action steps will be each night when planning out your to-do list for the next day? Many times, I see and hear of people planning out their action steps for their next day. When I ask whether those steps are the most effective thing they could be doing with their time, the answers vary.
One of the secrets of the super-successful is they choose the most effective action to take to produce the results to help them achieve their principle targets faster. One of the questions I use frequently throughout the day,
“Is this the most effective use of my time right now?”
When I answer ‘No’, I change what I’m doing immediately.
Now it helps to have the word effective defined for yourself. For us, effective means the action is moving you the next step closer to your dream life and accomplishing your goals. You want to ensure each step moves you closer to the life you want to be living instead of wasting time.
This effective use of your time starts when you are planning and prioritizing your next day the night before. Make sure you have the most important and most impactful action steps high on the priority list each day. This way, if you only accomplish those tasks, the day is still successful and moving you forward most effectively.
Implement this question into your life now. Consciously ask yourself this question frequently throughout each day. Make adjustments when needed to stay on track. Enjoy becoming more effective and more successful each day when using this question!
